What They Asked For
The goal of the redesigned website was to better reflect the Merrimack Valley YMCA’s commitment to community, inclusivity, and accessible wellness for all. The original site needed a refreshed structure that aligned with corporate YMCA branding while simplifying how families discover and register for programs. Their goals were to:
- Redesign and modernize the website in alignment with YMCA corporate branding, with a mobile-first, user-centered experience.
- Simplify program discovery and registration, especially for high-demand offerings such as child care, swim lessons, summer camps, and clubs.
- Consolidate and optimize pool and gym schedules for easy viewing across all devices.
- Develop and promote a dedicated mini-site for camps, including related information and reviews.
- Improve overall site performance, reliability, and cross-device responsiveness.
- Increase organic search visibility and attract more qualified website traffic.
What We Did
We developed a modern, mobile-first website that embodies the Merrimack Valley YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The redesign features intuitive navigation, streamlined program discovery, and a welcoming design that reflects the Y’s mission to nurture healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
To create a seamless user experience, we:
- Homepage redesign: Added quick-access links to high-traffic areas such as pool and gym schedules, membership benefits, tour scheduling, and youth and family programs.
- Navigation overhaul: Reorganized the site structure and implemented a custom mega-menu to help users find information faster and more intuitively.
- SEO strategy & optimization: Conducted keyword research, enhanced on-page content, and supported link-building efforts to boost search visibility.
- Multilingual support: Integrated built-in translation tools to better serve the diverse Merrimack Valley community.
- Enhanced membership hub: Created a centralized area to explore benefits, pricing, membership types, and schedule tours.
- Expanded philanthropy section: Showcased community impact through donation opportunities, fundraising events, volunteer programs, stories, and key statistics.
- Location-based program listings: Enabled users to easily view offerings at each of the three branch locations.
- Staff portal: Developed a dedicated internal space for staff resources, alerts, announcements, and upcoming events.
