Lowell Cemetery .

The Lowell Cemetery was conceived by a group of prominent Lowell citizens in 1840 as a private, non-sectarian, non-profit cemetery corporation.  It was modeled after Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts which was organized a few years earlier as the first Garden Cemetery in America.

The new website’s goal was to redesign its logo and create branding that compliments the new logo. We redesigned the new website with a video that showcases an aerial view of the cemetery and its expansive landscape.  The proprietors of the Cemetery would like visitors to it as a place of refuge for outdoor pleasures such as strolling and bird watching amid shrubs and flowers close to the city. To achieve this goal, we added Explore and Visit on the homepage prominently in order for visitors to find the significant monuments and notable people, and walking tours.

What We Did:

  • Website redesign with a focus on showing the expansive landscape and the history of the Lowell Cemetery
  • Added Walking Tours map of the prominent monuments
  • Featured an aerial view of the Cemetery
  • Logo redesign
  • Explore the Cemetery and Services blocks prominently on the home page
  • Mobile responsive view
